* 1 year of thoughts, reviews and favorite things *
Today marks a very important milestone for Virgos don’t cry and me, personally. This project started as a thought of sharing whatever came to my mind: a deep dive into my notes app (more like my notion and journal pages). And now, it’s been one year of writing it.
I want to talk about this newsletter and how good it makes me feel that it’s been one year on going, non-stop (which means that I really tried to write out something every month and succeeded!). I have been able to drive myself to just do it, to not think about what I put out there too much, to just get into the process of planning, writing, executing and feel good about any outcome.
This is the proudest I have been of myself since the first day I started thinking about writing it. Before this outlet, I never dared to put myself out on the internet this way, I thought about it for years and really tried to do so by making content for any platform I found interesting and fun but ended up being too hard on myself and not satisfied of whatever I did. And finally, this past year, writing this newsletter in Substack became my favorite thing to do.
This is a project that I just cherish too much. It has taught me many things. To be slow and decisive. To find myself interesting. To go with quality over quantity and hit the publish and share button always intentionally.
It has also made me more creative in a big way. I have really put a lot of effort on thinking about different ways of delivering my thoughts. Sometimes through lists. Other times through plain writing. Sometimes by remembering stuff around things I saw and moments I had to myself while listening to something. Other times by just looking and really observing my clothes and discovering every single thing I could see about why I pick what I pick to wear, to put on my body and the ways it makes me feel.
Writing, dressing, making lists, gathering references. Everything I put into the newsletter is everything I love. I care about those things like, deeply. These are the actions that Aitanni does day to day. It makes me Aitanni. And I love being myself, putting these things up on the internet, then coming back to myself and see me from the present point.
So really thank you for reading me. I am so happy to think that you receive these things I enjoy because you also enjoy it. This is why I love the feeling of being on the internet: the sense of belonging, connection and the peace of mind that relating to someone else brings.
* what’s next ??? *
After one year of knowing that I can keep up with writing constantly I finally think it’s time to use the tools that Substack offers. I am going to offer paid subscriptions. I have some very big ideas in mind and want to try and paywall some of them. For the value of one good coffee date a month ($5 USD) you will be able to support my writing.
This will mean different content for my dear sections:
For Virgos don’t cry I will be writing more around the zodiac seasons, my learnings, creative rituals, reading lists and how to prepare for the upcoming zodiac season. You will always have a free preview of my notes.
For Random Ratings the idea is to make more special editions, to go in deep on my favorite artists and their art trajectory this will be about my favorite musicians, directors, writers, etc. I will also get to write one new idea that I’m very excited for which are internet/media rabbitholes, how I get inspired from one thing and it leads me to another on a casual day of just being on my phone. All of you will also have a preview of this and the Random Ratings section as you know it will remain free.
For Species of Style I want to go a bit deeper than the ordinary, we’ll see what comes to mind every now and then. My post it thoughts on the infra-ordinary outfits will remain free.
It would mean so much to me if you come along and update your subscription to get all of these big ideas that I have. I am filled with excitement to go on and keep writing about anything and everything I love. Feel free to share your love by leaving a comment or following through insta <3
